Countertop Disinfectant

I don’t recommend drinking this while you clean, or you may never finish! 😉  I love spraying this on my countertops after I have finished cooking.  It leaves everything fresh and clean.  I’ve heard that it is safe for granite countertops and works well on mold and mildew, but I have never personally tried it.  Its actually a strong enough cleaner for most household jobs! 🙂

2 cups cheap vodka
2 cups water
20 drops Lavender Essential Oil
20 drops Lemon or Lemongrass Essential Oil

Mix and put in a one quart spray bottle.  Because the essential oils tend to separate from the water/vodka, make sure you shake it before you use it.  Spray on counter tops and wipe dry.

*If you put it into multiple containers, be sure you are stirring while you pour so the first bottle doesn’t get all the essential oils. 🙂

** Also, essential oils can sometimes clog up a spray bottle depending on the size of the spray unit.  (It is more likely to happen if its been sitting for a long time.) If it does, just take apart the spray unit and soak it in warm soapy water, then spray the water until its cleaned out and use again.
