This absolutely delicious sweetener free dessert is perfect for a Sunday during Lent! The original idea came from this recipe. Either way it would be good! Mine took much less time to bake -the apples started to get mushy, which was actually quite yummy! It possibly could just depend on what kind of apples you use, so keep that in mind. 🙂
4 Granny Smith Apples, peeled, quartered and cored
3 Tbs. butter cut into chunks
1/4 cup creamy coconut milk from the top of the can
a generous sprinkling of cinnamon
a sprinkle of sea salt
1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
2. Mix all ingredients in a 9″ baking dish.
3. Bake uncovered for 15 minutes, then flip the apple quarters. Repeat two more times for a total of 45 minutes baking, and 3 flips. The sauce should be pretty caramely. (The kind of apple you use could influence this, so bake for however long you wish!)
4. Serve warm: plain, with coconut milk ice cream, whipped cream, or yogurt! Enjoy! 🙂
